Audi’s concept revealed: Forget the new roadster Tesla Roadster

Because design is always subjective, race. Unfortunately, it is another story on Audi today. Take the new Audi Q6 e-tron: It’s the first electric vehicle, but visually it’s busy and complex, but somehow individual. Treatment of the E6 e-tron sedan is a little better, but I wouldn’t say that the car.

This situation seems to change soon. Meet the Audi C concept, which presents a better era for Audi design in a newer, better era. And most likely it shows us what we could expect from the upcoming sport EV, because efforts.

“With a design that focuses on clarity, Audi obscures a bold step towards reduced and timeless aesthetics, which will continue to distinguish the company at the time of the competition,” the automaker said in a press release. The main creative officer of Massimo Flescella, who joined the brand last year, calls the idea of ​​”radical simplicity”.

I would say the plan is for a good start. Gone is the stir we have seen from other Audis, replaced by elegance that calls back to the original TT, R8 and unused patterns such as Rosemeyer Concept. Audi also stated that it reflects the Union C car, an iconic racer from the early era of the Grand Prix. Meanwhile, the front end more resembles the new Audi E5 sport only in China, which I don’t think is a bad thing at all; A day that personally and it’s quite stunning.

One of the particularly remarkable functions – or rather omission – is the lack of the rear window. APING CARS, such as Polestar 4, the concept C has no glass behind the driver. The camera is likely to be replaced, although it seems that the Targa roof panel is retractable.

All of this leads us to what we think this thing is a preview: Audi’s counterpart to the upcoming electric Porsche 718 Cayman and Boxster. In its press release, Audi does not mention what could supply the production of C concept, but look at this thing: no physical control of the device, no apparent tail tails … If I had to give money, it is ev.

And because it is obviously not a successor to the supercars of the R8-Learl and the gas car platform, such as the old TT, feels unlikely, it is an obvious choice-and something we know that Audi works anyway. In addition, building this platform across the two brands of the Volkswagen Group will help expand the costs around, as well as the Porsche Taycan and Audi E-tron GT.

And both are absolutely the first electric power cars. If the production version of this concept C even has a decent fraction of their strength, we are very fun. In addition, if it is due for production, it could arrive in front of the border Vaporware Tesla Roadster. And it won’t even need rocket nozzles to be for a good time.
